Our village has community character that most places lost long ago.

It’s big enough to be interesting but small enough to really know our neighbors — some of whom are “Springers” from multi-generational families and others are recent arrivals starting to build their own Village legacies. Cold Spring is a place where neighbors still look after each other, through good and ill, regardless, and sometimes in spite of, their different origins. That’s community.

We have industrial roots that keep us grounded, family trades that have been here forever, as well as a growing number of folks working from home offices and in the creative sphere. Our architecture and neighborhoods are well-preserved, and tell the community’s story through time. We’ve got natural beauty and abundant outdoor recreational opportunities.

All that makes Cold Spring a place people want to experience.

Sometimes for villagers, our appeal feels like more of a burden than a blessing, and we have to work hard to find balance. During COVID, it has been especially tough to achieve. Yes, our local economy is driven by tourism, but it needs to work for our residents as well. The hard-working business owners providing goods and services that appeal to residents as well as visitors keep the heart of our community lively and thriving all through the year.

I love that our local businesses in Cold Spring are just a short walk away.

Plus parades!
We just love to parade. . .

All of this makes Cold Spring a place that is worth working hard to protect, preserve and nourish.

I’m committed to doing just that, with you.
